Our Food Technology Room offers twelve fully-operational kitchens, equipped with sinks, cooktops and ovens for students’ use, as well as one large main kitchen, used for teacher demonstration.
All kitchens have four sets of cutleries, cutting boards, juicers, oven mitts and other kitchen utensils.
We also have varying sizes of frypans, saucepans and pots, crockery, bakeware, measuring equipment, as well as food preparation bowls.
In order to be able to cater for individual and special needs, we offer one kitchen that is fully operational and wheelchair friendly.
The Food Technology Room also boasts a large walk in pantry for storage of food and appliances.
These appliances are for the shared use of students and include two kitchen aid stand mixers, seven handheld kitchen aid mixers, one industrial-sized sandwich press, as well as one microwave oven per two kitchens.
In terms of appliances we also have three milkshake machines, three waffle irons, two deep fryers and three handheld blenders.In addition to the well-equipped kitchens, the Food Technology Room offers a full-sized classroom, with access to textbooks and other Food Technology related media.
